In this game of surveillance, the camera is the most important player and they come in different forms, shapes and sizes and differing in the range of capabilities.

The surveillance camera has come to stay not only in business places, but are also finding their way into homes to keep tabs on intruders and unwelcome visitors. You can cut down on number of monitors by asking for a switching system through which two or more cameras may be selectively watched from a single monitor.

You can also reduce your investment on your surveillance system by opting for a mix of real and dummy cameras. The dummies may be deliberately displayed, although not to the point of making it obvious to any intended intruder, since the purpose of planting dummies is to instill a fear and deter any potential intruders from entering your property.

Monitoring your own people within the House

If your family go on vacation, you might like to see how your domestics like the nanny, errands boy and baby sitter behave in your absence; and sometimes it could be very useful too in case a theft or some criminal activity takes place during your absence. Micro surveillance cameras are the best for this type of monitoring. They are very small and can be surreptitiously hidden with flower arrangements, between books in a bookshelf etc. Evidence on camera can be produced in courts of law. A home security surveillance system is an adaptation of its more elaborate versions found in business houses and high security areas like airports etc. The purposes of such a system are twofold. It not only serves you with evidence after something has happened, but also has a far reaching deterrent and preventive effect too.
